In this deeply moving scene from The Chosen, one of the disciples known as Little James approaches Jesus with a painful and honest question. Although he has faithfully followed Jesus and witnessed many miracles, he still lives with a physical disability. When Jesus sends the disciples out with authority to heal others, James wonders why he himself has not been healed.
With humility and courage, James asks the question many believers have quietly asked in their own hearts: “Why haven’t you healed me?” Jesus responds with compassion and reassurance, explaining that James’s life will carry a powerful testimony. His faith, even in the midst of weakness and suffering, will speak to many who struggle with similar questions.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9
This moment reminds us that God’s work in our lives is not always expressed through immediate healing or visible miracles. Sometimes the greater testimony is a life that continues to trust, praise, and serve God even in the presence of hardship.
As you watch this scene, take time to reflect on the mystery of faith and suffering. Jesus meets us not only in our moments of strength but also in our weakness, inviting us to trust that our lives can still be used for His purpose and glory.
